English in Year 2

Spring Term 2

During this term we have studied our local area, so we have written persuasive texts to convince people to visit our wonderful city.  As part of world book day, we spent two weeks reading Fungus the Bogeyman by Raymond Briggs, so we wrote our own version of the story.

Spring Term 1

This term we have written about the Great Fire of London, we enjoyed writing newspaper articles and a narrative about the fire as if we were a maid working in the infamous bakery on Pudding Lane.

Autumn Term 2

This term we are continuing with our pirate topic but we also had great fun during space week as we wrote all about aliens saving planet Earth from a meteor!

Autumn Term 1

This term we have learned about pirates, so our writing has had a pirate theme! We have read The Night Pirates book so we have written pirate adventure stories and enjoyed writing letters to the Girl Pirates.
