Headteacher's Welcome

Dear parents, carers and visitors,

On behalf of the children, staff and Governors, I welcome you to Pinders Primary School in Wakefield. Pinders is an inclusive warm, vibrant family orientated and welcoming school that I am proud to be the Headteacher. Pinders is a diverse caring community of learners with a fantastic, dedicated  staff team, committed Governors, supportive parents and happy, engaged children.

Selecting a school for your child is a daunting process and I realise how important it is to have trust in the people that care for your child each day. All our staff are highly dedicated and will always go the extra mile to ensure that every child is valued, inspired and engaged. This is achieved through a carefully constructed, bespoke curriculum where we aim to master the basics we need for life in reading, writing and maths as well as developing their knowledge and curiosity of the world. By the end of your Childs primary education they will be ready for their next steps to continue their journey as lifelong learners.

Please see our curriculum pages on this website for more details.

We believe that education is about the entire child, their well-being and enrichment as well as their academic achievement. Over the last couple of years, we have worked hard as a team to enhance the provision and environment of our school and now have an excellent outdoor learning environment that reflects the high-quality learning environment within the school. Pinders learning environment is continuously being improved and enhanced, you will find photos on our website and are equally welcomed to make an appointment to come and look round.

Wakefield Pinders Primary is a safe, happy learning environment. The corridors and classroom are filled with bright and attractive displays that show the wide range of exciting experiences that pupils are able to enjoy. The early years setting is well organised and productive so that children get the best possible start when they enter the school.

We are a school that celebrate every child's uniqueness, striving to develop them as independent learners, who persevere even when they find things difficult, to reach their full potential. We encourage all our learners to be aspirational about their future goals, inviting in visitors from different industries, taking them out to experience the theatre, museums, outdoor activities and much more, consequently broadening their horizons. All our staff and governors  are driven  to ensure that every individual leaves Pinders Primary equipped with the educational skills and moral values to enable them to live in society and deal with any challenges the modern world may confront them with. We do this in a positive manner in which we encourage children to think for themselves.

Reading is an essential skill for life, at Pinders we aim to " Flood the school with books." Our goal is for all our children to leave Pinders Primary as accomplished readers who have experienced a wide range of reading opportunities and above all developed a love of books.

Education is a partnership between school, family and the community; we strive to actively engage parents and families within the life of the school.

" Parents and pupils say that they enjoy school and would recommend it to others"
