2020/21- Year 4 have started experimenting with watercolours in preparation for recreating a Monet painting. We began by mixing primary colours to create secondary and tertiary colours. We also practised the different techniques of using watercolours.

2020/21- Year 4 have been looking at the artist Ed Chapman as part of their Art topic this half term. They looked at his famous work of mosaics and then designed their own Roman inspired mosaics.

Year 4, researched Greek Pottery, created geometric repeating patterns, practiced these on clay then finally sculpted our own Greek Pots with geometric patterns on.

Year 4 enjoyed learning about stone age cave art. We foraged for raw materials outside to use as paint so we could recreate our own cave inspired art.  We painted a range of stone age animals and painted our hand prints just like the Argentinian Cave of Hands. We also painted designs of buffalo, deer and mammoths onto sand paper to really experience what it would have been like to paint onto a cave wall.
