Staff well-being

At Pinders Primary School, we believe that good staff well-being and mental health is essential for cultivating a mentally healthy school, for motivating staff and for promoting pupil wellbeing and attainment.

As in all schools, our staff juggle a multitude of different tasks and demands so it is vital that we provide the right emotional and practical support so that they can, in turn, support their pupils. As a school, we place great emphasis on maintaining a work-life balance and strive to reduce the pressures that come with the job. However, we know that there are times when staff may need a little extra support.

Staff Well-being Charter

Overview

The education staff wellbeing charter is a declaration of support for, and set of commitments to, the wellbeing and mental health of everyone working in education. The charter is for education staff in England. This includes temporary and support staff. All state funded schools and colleges are invited to sign up to the charter, as a shared commitment to protect, promote and enhance the wellbeing of their staff. Pinders Primary School are committed to staff well-being and have signed up to this charter.

We all experience times of stress and worry in our lives and it is important to reach out and ask for help when you need it. Below are some links to useful websites, reading material and support groups that our staff may find useful should they need some support with their own mental wellbeing.

In both staff rooms we have a board with information on about additional wellbeing websites and positive quotes, and a shout out section so staff can say something positive about another member of staff.
