12. Grammar

Year 3 - understand that nouns have a gender in French, and that the article indicates gender.  Write sentences that begin with a capital letter and end with a full stop..

 

Year 4 - know which article (both definite and indefinite) indicates masculine and feminine.  Be able to give examples or nouns, adjectives and a conjunction in French.  Understand that adjectives often follow the noun. Recognise and use a negative sentence.

 

Year 5 - understand that most but not all adjectives follow the noun; know which common adjectives precede the noun; recognise and use negative sentences.
