8. Stories, songs and rhymes

Year 3 - Join in with actions when singing or reciting rhymes or song; attempt to join in with some words.

 

Year 4 - follow the gist of a short story, rhyme or poem, sustaining interest, using pictures, tone of voice etc. to decifer meaning ond/or join in.

 

Year 5 - Follow the gist of an extended story involving more complex language, using picture, tone of voice to decipher meaning.
