20/21 Year 6 read ‘Who Are Refugees And Migrants? why Do People Leave Their Homes? and Other BIG Questions’ by Annemarie Young and Michael Rosen.We really enjoyed exploring this book.
2020/21 Year 5 have read Refugee written by Alan Gratz throughout book week this year. We wrote letters to Alan asking some questions about his story. We also took inspiration from Solara Shiha’s artwork ‘900’ and created our own watercolour versions.
2020/21 UKS2 enjoyed our live Zoom session with our patron of reading Conrad Burdekin. We had lots fun and LOTS of laughs!
2020/21- Year 4 Conrad Burdekin, our Patron of Reading, joined us virtually for Book Week this year. He read stories, poems and also told a unique stories that our class helped to create. We had lots of fun and laughter along the way!

This years book character costume competition was judged by our school librarians. They had a tough job because there was some fantastic costumes.

The school librarians had the opportunity to be judges during book character day. They had the hard task of going around school looking at all the costumes and deliberating who should win.
Year 4 have worked hard to publish our own narratives based on our wordless book, The Yellow Balloon.
Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed becoming their favourite characters on Character Day, can you guess who we are?

Our whole school retelling the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ using sounds to recreate a wordless book.
Year 4 are thoroughly enjoying our wordless book and can’t wait to publish our own interpretation of the narrative!
Year 5 are loving our book week book ‘The Arrival’ by Shaun Tan. Today, we focussed on the background scenes illustrated throughout the story, focussing on building styles. We are starting to create our own versions.
