In EYFS we enjoy using our floor book to look back at previous learning. This helps the children to develop their chronological awareness whilst ensuring knowledge remains sticky!
As part of our chronological understanding, we update our learning journey board over the half term with pictures and work that we have done. At the end of each half term we then talk about what we have done and also what we have done throughout our time in Reception!
As part of our awareness of chronology, nursery and reception order the day and then remove each event as it happens!
In reception, we use our birthday board to look at special times for us during the year. When it is their birthday, the children talk about what they have done and what they can remember doing in the past for their birthday!
When a new month arrives, Cubs explore whos birthday falls within that month! They celebrate their birthday together and talk about past and present events in their own lives.
