Finding the pulse
Year 1/2 have been experimenting with finding the pulse in different pieces of music.
Year 1/2 have been practising singing different notes at different pitches.
Year 1/2 have been playing different rhythms on the drums.
In Year 1 we have been learning about rap music. We have listened to lots of different pieces of rap music. We have learnt our own song called 'Hey You' which includes rapping and singing. We have also been playing tuned percussion instruments to accompany our song. At the end of the first half term we began to explore simple composition and pitch. An introduction to composition...
As we moved into the second half of the autumn term, Year 1 began learning a new song called 'Rhythm in the Way we Walk'. We also learnt about warming up our voices, focussing on our breathing and articulating clear sounds when we sing. This has helped us to improve our singing. Have a look at the videos below...
