Our Reading incentives

Throughout school we have a range of reading incentives in order to encourage our pupils to read regularly at home. Each class has their own interactive reading record to help pupils track their home reading throughout the week. The aim is for every child to read at home 4 times a week.

In addition to our class incentive charts, we also have a weekly whole-school reading challenge. The aim is for 70% or more of the class to have read at home 4+ times a week. The class with the highest percentage wins the reading trophy in celebration assembly and receives a special golden book for their class. All the classes who meet the 70% target or higher to select a book for their class from the silver book collection. The achievements of each class is recorded on a whole school display near the hall.
