Algebra has been tricky this term for year 6, but we persevered and using our starter mats has really helped recap our knowledge each day.

‪Year 5 have been measuring perimeter. We revisited our knowledge of measuring in cm and mm then began calculating the perimeter of compound shapes.

Solving problems using the Order of Operations has really challenged Y6 this term.

In Y6 our place value and number knowledge is really building.

Y6 have worked hard this term on their arithmetic skills.

Y6 have used SLSO on the tablets to access and manipulate pictorial maths resources such as counters to support their place value learning.

2020/21 Year 5 have been working hard in place value in maths.

Y6 enjoyed a reasoning task relating to addition and subtraction and making links between a range of mental strategies.

Year 5 have been using the bar model to help us answer reasoning questions involving finding the missing lengths in perimeter.

Year 5 have been interpreting numbers up to 1,000,000 using concrete and pictorial representations to help us to solve problems in an abstract form.

Year 5 using counters and a place value chart to unpick what happens when you multiply a 4-digit number by a 1-digit number.

Year 5 began multiplying 4-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers using deines in an area grid.

Year 5 began our fractions topic by finding equivalent fractions using the fraction walls.

Year 5 using fraction circles and squares to represent improper fractions and mixed numbers.

Year 5 have been pictorially representing improper fractions and mixed numbers.

Year 6 undertaking a fraction jigsaw puzzle.

Top
