School Dinners

Packed lunch from home

Many children at Pinders Primary School bring a packed lunch from home. These need to be brought in a lunch box to keep them cool and fresh.

Nut Free:

We aim to be a nut free school to make sure our school is safe for children with allergies. The school aims to protect children who have allergies to nuts yet also help them, as they grow up, to take responsibility as to what foods they can eat and to be aware of where they may be put at risk.

In order to safeguard those children susceptible to allergies, we do not allow nuts or nut products in school lunch boxes. Please help us by double checking the food in your child's lunch is nut free.

Nut-Free' means that the following items should not be brought into school:

  •  Packs of nuts
  •  Peanut butter or Nutella sandwiches
  •  Fruit and cereal bars that contain nuts
  • Chocolate bars or sweets that contain nuts
  • Sesame seed rolls (children allergic to nuts may also have a severe reaction to sesame)
  • Cakes made with nuts
  • Any home cooked meals for packed lunches that are made from nuts

If your child brings a packed lunch to school, please support us in encouraging healthy choices at lunch time. We politely request that fizzy drinks, sweets and chocolate bars are not brought to school.

Most parents are very good at providing children with a balanced packed lunch, but we all could do with a little help when it comes to providing the children with a good variety. Sites that may be of interest include:
