My name is Catherine Eaves and I have had the pleasure and privilege of being a Parent Governor at Pinders Primary School for about 14 years now. My family have lived in Wakefield since 2001 and this is now our home. Whilst my daughter is now 21 and my son 13 they both attended Pinders Primary School from 5 to 11 years.
In my day job I am a hospital manager at Fieldhead hospital and due to my work commitments I rarely dropped my children off nor picked them up from school and felt very disconnected from their experience at Pinders Primary, therefore I took up the position as a Parent Governor to want to feel some connection to their school and experience.
Governance of schools is vital to make sure our young people develop into grounded adults and I believe that Pinders Primary School constantly strives to achieve this, and encourage our children to be whatever they want to be.
